The Hammock
Area Communities: Hammock Beach, Hammock Dunes, Ocean Hammock
Within Palm Coast is an area known as The Hammock - named such
because it is a natural hammock, by definition, a tract of forested
land that rises above an adjacent marsh area. Hammocks are common
in Florida, but having said that, the truth is that many hammocks
have been destroyed by development and so they can be hard to
find today.
The Hammock communities occupy a swath of land east of the
Malacompra Greenway preserve, culminating at the Atlantic coastline.
Revered for its unspoiled beauty, developers selected this location
for some of the most luxurious planned residential areas anywhere
on the eastern seaboard. Development is being done with extreme
care, with an effort to enhance and complement, not to destroy.

The Hammock communities
exemplify the best of what Palm Coast and Flagler County have
to offer including all resort-style amenities and numerous living
options.
The result is three resort-styled, luxury residential communities,
each paying respect to the land by leaving open spaces and including
nature trails and park-like designs into their developments.
These communities are Hammock Beach, Hammock Dunes and Ocean
Hammock.
The area is located 20 minutes south of St. Augustine and 30
minutes north of Daytona Beach. The international airport in
Jacksonville is approximately one hour away by car. |

Hammock Beach
Elegantly occupying 1,500 acres of immaculate Atlantic coast,
the unique development of Hammock Beach sparkles like gold dust
on a sandy shore. The neighborhoods within this community offer
a variety of luxurious lifestyles.
The high-rise condominiums replete with resort-style amenities
allow you to live in the veritable lap of luxury. Alternatively,
select a single-family home site on the beach and build your
custom oceanfront dream home. Yacht Harbor Village awaits those
who fancy the maritime lifestyle.
If boating and fishing are your passions, pick one of these
Intracoastal home sites or waterfront condominiums and a private
dock will be available to you, as will the services of the full
size marina.

The Conservatory is the newest section
of Hammock Beach, and perhaps the most anticipated. Designed in
the Spanish Renaissance style, this gated community is anchored
by a Tom Watson Signature Golf Course. Scheduled for 2006 completion,
The Conservatory will be composed of just 340 home sites on 566
woodland acres. The planned clubhouse will serve as a stunning
focal point and gathering place. Large single-family home sites
on the golf course start in the $300,000’s. |

If golf is your game,
the existing Jack Nicklaus 18 hole, par 72 championship course
is unmatched. The course runs through live oaks and wetlands
with several holes kissing the ocean shore. There are few more
majestic viewpoints than those from an emerald fairway overlooking
an azure sea. To build a custom home on the edge of this course
is to put the world in your backyard.
Residents of Hammock Beach have full access to Club membership,
which includes the multi-million dollar Water and Swim Pavilion
with 3-story waterslide, several pools, lazy river and poolside
bar and grill. Pamper yourself in the 12,000±SF health
spa with saunas, steam rooms, whirlpools, treatment and massage
rooms. Plus, you may enjoy the full fitness center and the two
tennis complexes with Har-Tru courts. Have your personal concierge
make all the arrangements!
Hammock Dunes
Well-planned and superbly executed, Hammock Dunes is a private,
golf course community set directly on the Atlantic coast. Gated
and secure, entrances which are staffed 24 hours a day control
access in and out of Hammock Dunes. |

Two championship golf
courses flank this development – one a Tom Fazio design
and the other a Rees-Jones creation, called the Creek Course.
Both are a challenging 18 holes and both travel through the
natural areas of Hammock Dunes. Many of the single-family homes
here claim their fairways as spectacular vistas.
Hammock Dunes is also right on the ocean and offers 1½
miles of beach to its residents. Enjoy the privacy factor here
on this serene stretch of sand. The oceanfront clubhouse is
spectacular with views of vast ocean to one side and gorgeous
golf links to the other. Dine casually or with refinement in
one of the clubhouse restaurants. Enjoy an after dinner drink
in the lounge and make plans to meet your neighbor for a game
of tennis on one of the five clay courts. The heated pool and
spa, fitness facilities and pro-shop provide additional conveniences.
The community’s social calendar keeps residents busy
– or at least with the option to be busy. Many prefer
just to relax and enjoy all that Hammock Dunes has to offer
in the way of doing nothing
For the boating enthusiast, Island Estates is simply incomparable—a
2 mile long island with every home site fronting either the
Intracoastal of the FEC Canal. |

Ocean Hammock
Like its neighbors in The Hammock, Ocean Hammock was planned
to be an elite oceanfront community that features world-class
golf, but also provides all the expected resort-style amenities
and amusements, with a variety of home options. Ocean Hammock
does not disappoint. |

The community fronts the Jack Nicklaus
course which runs through Ocean Hammock and Hammock Beach. The
course was built by Nicklaus, with a flair for the dramatic
and his skill for constructing a stunning course, and features
six holes directly on the ocean. Nicklaus himself has proclaimed
this course to be the “Pebble Beach of the east”.
The Clubhouse is a sight to behold as well. With full fitness
facilities, a pro-shop, restaurant, ocean-oriented swimming
pool, and beach amenities, it is everything one would expect
at this level of luxury.
Meander on foot through the 320-acre nature preserve or by
bicycle through the tree-lined streets of Ocean Hammock. Each
neighborhood is distinctive with various single-family home
options.
Ocean Point Estates is not far from the beach and offers home
sites with golf course views as well as wetland and lake views.
Ocean Reserve Estates is a bit more wooded and exclusive, with
limited large estate parcels along the golf course, a few lakeside
parcels and just a handful that adjoin the nature preserve.
From here, a short stroll over the pedestrian bridge takes you
to the sands of Ocean Hammock’s beach. |
